Low energy houses
In new houses designed to be very energy efficient, there is a number of reason to choose electrical heating as the total or comfort heating source.
An electrical floor heating systems has lower installation costs compared with water or air borne heating systems, especially in smaller or energy efficient houses houses. Electricity is always present so the power supply only needs to be scaled where other heating systems needs their own supply, like an oil or gas burner, a district heating unit or a heat pump.
Electrical floor heating can also be the comfortable supplement to a ventilation heat pump. Because no matter how insulated a house is, tiles and stones i bathrooms needs to be 26-29°C to feel comfortable. With a timer thermostat and heating cables installed just below your tiles you can still have comfort in time, morning and evening.
