Waterbased underground heating improved with Devireg™

28 January 2008
A high degree of safety and comfort, and control over operating costs – these were the arguments for choosing Devireg™ 850 to monitor the water-based heating system in the pedestrian precinct in Denmark’s 2nd largest city, Århus.

Icy flagstones and heaps of snow can take the enjoyment out of any walk around town. For a number of years, therefore, a heating system has been installed under the popular pedestrian precinct of the town, so that people can shop without fear of falling and breaking a leg.

Automatic control
Since then, however, the control system has been in need of renovation and updating. The solution came in the form of the intelligent Devireg™ 850, which, with surface humidity and temperature sensors, gives optimum control of the heating system.

When the digital sensors send signals of low temperatures combined with high humidity to the thermostat, the heating system automatically swings into action without any human intervention needed.

Thus, shoppers can safely visit the busy precinct no matter what the vagaries of the winter weather.
