Ground Applications

The DEVI ice and snow melting system covers the most common ground applications like car parks, driveways, pavements, outdoor steps, loading ramps, and bridges.

Required output
When the required W/m2 of an ice and snow melting system is to be determined there are several 3 considerations to be made:

1. If it is a Residential or Commercial application
2. The balance between performance, running costs and available power supply
3. The place where the system is to be installed – climate and location  

In practice anything from 200-550 W/m2 can be relevant, so please contact your local DEVI office for design or read the DEVI Compendium.

Energy consumption per season
The energy consumption of the DEVI Ice and Snow melting system depends on both the location and the local climate. In below table the same 20 m2 are operated in different cities:

The figures will be lower with larger areas.
Zone support saves energy
The Devireg™ 850 lets you divide your area into 2 zones, eg. a North and South side. In this way it is possible to save energy, when the South side is free of ice and snow faster because of the heat from the sun.

You can also prioritize between the zones, e.g. if you have limited power supply. This way e.g. the pavement is made free of snow before the power is focussed on the roof and gutters

In this way Devireg™ 850 is both economical and scalable no matter if the application is commercial or residential.
