Advantage to the floor construction

Electrical heating offers a number of constructive advantages in a building project.

First of all, the fact, that DEVI heating cables or mats are placed just underneath the floor covering makes for a very light floor construction.

Water based floor heating usually needs a concrete layer of 60 to 100 mm. on top of the water tubes in order to diffuse the heating. Electrical DEVI floor heating is mounted directly in the tile glue which means that it practically doesn’t add any additional height to the floor at all.

Multi storey buildings

Low building height is a clear advantage in multi storey buildings where the size of the horizontal division really matters. – Like in the 54 storey tall Turning Torso in Malmo, Sweden, where DEVI supplied the heating cables for the bathrooms in the otherwise water heated building.

Also in renovation projects, the low build-up height of e.g. Devimat™ systems creates an advantage.

You can mount the 3 to 4 mm. high self-adhesive heat mats directly on top of the existing floor covering thus escape the additional cost and waste of resources on digging up the floor.
