Frost protection of antennas and wires
Icicle and lumps of ice present a real threat to road users, when passing a mast or driving on – or under - a bridge. Moreover, ice on masts, reflectors and wirings on bridges presents a real treat to the construction itself.
One choice of the engineer is to make the dimensions of the construction capable of carrying the extra weight. – This is often a very costly solution in terms of extra materials. Another option is to remove the ice manually. – A labour heavy and often dangerous task.
The practical, economical and automatic solution is to install a DEVI frost protection system with 30 W/m Deviflex™ cables twisted every 10 cm wrapped around the mast or wires.
