Heating in wooden floors
DEVI heating system can be installed in all kinds of wooden floors as long as the installation prefaces are observed.
The maximum thickness of softwood (density 400-600 kg/m3– pine etc.) is 2 cm.The maximum thickness of hardwood (density over 600 kg/m3– beach, oak etc.) is 3 cm.
Since wood is a natural soft materials it must be prevented from drying out. This is practically done by limiting the temperature on the floor surface to max. 27°C or what is prescribed by the flooring manufacturer.
Therefore, a floor sensor should always be used in order to control the temperature in the floor. The floor sensor has to be connected to thermostats like Devireg 550 or Devireg 535 with a temperature limiting feature. If the floor is heated with Devidry™ it is mandatory to fit the system with one of the two controller kits - the Pro Kit or the Plug Kit.
