Install floor heating on existing floor

Thin floors

DEVI has designed a special system for house renovations where the construction height of the floors needs to be low.The system can be installed on the existing tiles, concrete floors and well supported wooden floors.

Mats or cables
The Devimat™ solution increases the floor height with 12-15 mm only, including tiles.

The Devimat™ are self-adhesive and ensure a quick and easy installation directly on the existing floor. Since the mat itself is only 3-5 mm thick including tile glue/adhesive, the increase in the floor height will be minimal.

Optionally a thin Deviflex™ cable solution will increase the floor height with 15-30 mm only, including tiles.

If the new floor surface is wooden or plastic 20-25 mm concrete is required above the heating cables.  

Required Output

Devimat™ comes in 2 sizes

The 100 W/m2 mat is:

  • sufficient for comfort heating in most cases
  • maximum if the old sub floor or new top floor is wooden

The 150 W/m2 mat should be chosen if one or more conditions are present:

  • Cold winters with frequent temperatures below -10°C
  • Poor insulation in the building 
  • Many obstacles like cupboards, bathtubs, lavatories, which reduces the heatable floor area

A thin Deviflex™ solution can be designed for any output as long as the distance between the cables is 5-10 cm.
