The Central Railway Station Sofia
The Central Railway Station Sofia is the major passenger railway station of Sofia and the largest railway station in Bulgaria.
The first, original building of the Sofia Railway Station was opened in 1888 to serve the first line of the Bulgarian State Railways. The Sofia Railway Station was renovated and expanded several times. In 1948, the Sofia Railway Station was renamed the Central Railway Station.
Nowadays approximately 10,910 people pass through the station daily and average 166 trains. The station has 30 ticket offices.
In 2003, DEVI electric heating systems for ice and snow melting of stairs and lanes were installed.
