Herning Church - Herning Kirke, Denmark

Herning Church - Herning Kirke was designed in late 1880s by young architect C.A. Wiinholt according to the romantic style of the Middle Ages. Since that time for already 130 years the Church has been a symbolic center of Herning town daily welcoming visitors.

To protect the chapel roof in winter period, ice and snow melting system was recently installed. It covers approximately 30 m² of roof area with calculated needed power minimum 220 W/m².

3 pcs of DEVIsnow™ 20T (20W/m²) heating cables 115 meters each were installed with average 8,5 cm distance between cable lines (C-C distance varied 7,5-10,0 cm) along the edge and gutter of the roof. To fix the cable on the bitumen roof surface specific DEVIclip™ C-C cabelholders were used. They were glued to the roof with a caulking gun.

Total installed power of the system comes to 2,421 kW.

The electric heating system is controlled by DEVIreg™ 850 IV w. PSU controller with a roof sensor providing accurate temperature and humidity measurements to ensure minimum energy consumption.

Works were performed in spring 2020 by Kristian Kirkeby.
